Sustainability
In late 2023, Concord IT made a conscious decision to embed sustainability into the heart of the business strategy. This initiative draws on the expertise of our team – particularly Lorna’s postgraduate studies in Sustainability and reflects our belief that responsible business practices are essential for long term growth and resilience.
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us – it’s a commitment. It aligns with our values and our vision for the future. We want Concord IT to have a positive impact on the clients we serve, the people we employ, and the communities and environment we’re part of.
Since launching this initiative, we’ve made meaningful changes across our operations – from reducing waste and improving energy efficiency to support circular economy efforts like hardware reuse and community partnerships. We’ve now updated this page to reflect our current progress. See below for recent updates on the policies and practices we’ve adopted, and why sustainability remains a core focus for our business.
🌱 Key Sustainability Initiatives
Hardware Reuse & Donation
We partner with Glee Givers to donate decommissioned laptops and IT equipment. Devices are securely wiped, refurbished, and distributed to individuals and families in need—supporting digital inclusion and reducing e-waste.Paperless Operations
We’ve transitioned to digital-first workflows across our service desk and administration, significantly reducing paper use and improving efficiency.Energy-Conscious Office Practices
Our Mooroolbark office has adopted energy-saving measures, including smart power management, LED lighting, and a focus on reducing standby energy consumption.Sustainable Procurement
We prioritise suppliers and vendors who demonstrate environmental responsibility, and we consider sustainability in all purchasing decisions.Knowledge Sharing & Community Engagement
We actively share sustainability knowledge through internal training and community conversations, encouraging other small businesses to take action.

We’re proud to partner with Glee Givers, a Melbourne-based charity that refurbishes donated laptops and distributes them to individuals and families in need. As part of this initiative, we donate decommissioned hardware – devices that are securely wiped, disassembled for parts, or restored to working condition.
Glee Givers refurbishes each device for just $15 and ensures it reaches someone who can benefit—whether it’s a student, job seeker, or community member without access to digital tools. The charity is entirely volunteer-run, which means more of the impact goes directly to those who need it most.
This partnership helps reduce e-waste, extend the life of valuable tech, and support digital inclusion across Australia. It’s one of the ways we’re turning everyday operations into meaningful change.
